12 Days of Christmas- Day 4

Word BlocksSupplies Needed:

-Various sizes of wooden blocks

-Large Red Glitter Letters

-Wide Red Ribbon

-White Paint

Step 1: My wooden blocks were cut from a 2x4, 1x4 & 2x2. I got the wood from Home Depot and enlisted the help of my hubby to cut it down for me. (He was so proud of himself when I finished this project.... like he did the actual crafting. So great!)

Step 2: Paint wood blocks

Step 3: add ribbon around the blocks, adding only a couple of bows

Step 4: add your letters
I love this project so much because it is so versatile, it can be adapted for any word and for any color palette. Have Fun!

12 Days of Christmas- Day 3

Ornaments Supplies Needed:

-clear glass ornaments in various sizes

-various pattern papers- double sided pattern

-various colors of tulle

Step 1: You will need to cut your papers into thin strips, approximately 1/4" strips.

Step 2: you will need to remove the top of the ornament and set aside

Step 3: coil the strips of paper as tight as they can go and then push through the hole at the top of the ornaments. They need to be coiled tight in order to fit through the hole.

Step 4: Repeat this process until the ornament is full. As you add the coils of paper they will unravel inside the ornament. The more paper inside the better.

Step 5: once the ornament is full, put the top back in place and then add tulle around the top, tie a knot or bow

Step 6: add tulle to the loop at the top to hang the ornament with

12 Days of Christmas- day 2

Ribbon Tree

You will need:

-styrofoam cone

-sewing pins (smallest size)

-various Christmas Ribbon @ 210

-ribbon quantity may vary depending on the width of the ribbon

-a longer strip of ribbon for bow at top of tree

Step 1: cut your 210 strips of ribbon- 2.5" - 3 " long

Step 2: start at the bottom pinning ribbon in place working your way up

Step 3: once at the top, loop your ribbon and pin ends to the top, pin loop against the tree

Step 4: finish of your tree with a bow and longer ends to hang down over tree

12 Days of Christmas is Here!

So excited to share this project with you, I am so happy with how it turned out. I was inspired last Christmas with the yarn ball wreaths that decorated the Starbucks stores. I saw them and was in love, I though I can make that... and so I did. All the supplies were purchased at Micheal's and because just about everything Christmas related is on sale there the wreath cost less than $40. The most time consuming part was wrapping the styrofoam balls with the yarn otherwise it really was super easy. Enjoy & have fun creating your own!

Yarn & Ornament Wreath

You will need:

an 18" wire wreath form

holiday garland @ 2, I have used a red berry & a gold berry garland

6 large Styrofoam balls

6 medium Styrofoam balls

6 small Styrofoam balls

8 glass ornaments

various yarn

ribbon to hang wreath with

Step 1: cover styrofoam balls with yarn

Step 2: fit garland into wire wreath, be sure to pull berries out so that they show once you add all the various balls.

Attach garland in place with tie wraps or floral wire.

Step 3: place yarn balls and glass ornaments in place, moving around until you get it just right

Step 4: using a hot glue gun, adhere everything in place

Step 5: loop ribbon through to hang with or simply hang by the wire wreath form

All the supplies for this wreath were purchased at Micheal's and cost under $40.

December 1st....... wow can you believe it's tomorrow!!! Can't wait to share my first project with you, when I finished I stood up, looked down at it and squealed! So excited!

3D Ornament

I went to a Christmas party at the Urban Scrapbook this past Wednesday and we did an ornament make n' take. I was trying to make one on Saturday at the end of my class and was failing miserably so I promised to post the 'how to" for the ladies that were in my Home Decor class.The finished ornaments.

Getting started, you will need to use double sided paper and it will need to be cut into squares. I used a 12x12, 9x9 & 6x6.

Step 1: fold paper

Step 2: fold again

Step 3: cut the double folded edge into strips towards the single folded edge, leaving about 1/4 "- Do Not cut through this edge

Step 4: unfold paper

Step 5: take the two center tips adhere them together, use a glue dot for this

Step 6: flip over and adhere the next two tips. Keep alternating the paper and repeating this step

Step 7: Once complete, punch a hole at one end and hang with a ribbon
